Ingredients:
– 1 broccoli
– Water
– Salt to taste
– 1 tomato
– 1 tablespoon of butter
– 1 onion, chopped
– 3 cloves of garlic
– Pinch of salt
= Ground black pepper to taste
– 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
– 7 oz / 200 g of heavy cream
– Olive oil
– Grated cheese (or sliced) for topping
Instructions:
1 – Cut the broccoli into florets.
2 – In a saucepan, add the broccoli and enough water to cover it.
3 – Season with salt to taste.
4 – Cook the broccoli for approximately 8 minutes.
5 – Meanwhile, cut the tomato into pieces and set aside.
6 – Drain the cooked broccoli and set aside.
7 – In a frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
8 – Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until golden.
9 – Add the tomato and mix well.
10 – Season with a pinch of salt and ground black pepper to taste.
11 – Add the 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and mix until well incorporated.
12 – Pour the heavy cream into the frying pan and mix again.
13 – Grease all sides of a baking dish with olive oil.
14 – Arrange the broccoli florets in the dish.
15 – Pour the mixture from the frying pan over the broccoli, making sure to spread it evenly.
16 – Sprinkle grated cheese (or place slices) on top according to your preference.
17 – Place the baking dish in the oven and bake until the cheese melts and turns golden.
18 – Remove from the oven and serve the broccoli with melted cheese while still hot.
