Caramelized Chicken Wings (Drumettes)

Ingredients:

– 1 kg / 2.20lb of chicken wings
– 1 tablespoon of baking soda
– 3 tablespoons of sugar
– 2 tablespoons of oil
– 2 cloves of minced garlic
– 1 teaspoon of salt
– 1 teaspoon of black pepper
– 1 teaspoon of paprika
– 2 tablespoons of soy sauce

Instructions:

In a large bowl, place the chicken wings and add a tablespoon of baking soda. Cover the wings with water and mix the baking soda well. Soak for 15 minutes, then rinse the wings thoroughly to remove the baking soda.

In a large pan, add the 3 tablespoons of sugar and heat over medium heat. Wait until the sugar melts and turns into caramel, stirring occasionally.

Add the 2 tablespoons of oil to the melted caramel and mix well.

Add the chicken wings to the caramel and stir to coat them evenly. Cook for about 10 minutes, turning the wings occasionally until they become golden brown.

Add the 2 minced cloves of garlic, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce to the caramelized wings. Mix well to ensure all wings are seasoned.

Cover the pan and cook on low heat for another 10 minutes, or until the chicken wings are fully cooked and the sauce is well incorporated.

Serve the caramelized chicken wings while they are still hot. You can garnish with a bit of chopped parsley, if desired.
