Homemade Tomato Sauce
I don’t buy tomato sauce at the market anymore, now I do it like this!
Ingredients:
– 1,5 kg / 3.3 lbs of ripe tomatoes
– 300ml / 10 fl.oz. of water
– a drizzle of olive oil
– 1 onion
– 2 garlic cloves
– 1 teaspoon of salt
-1/2 teaspoon black pepper
How to make:
1 – Start by cutting the tomatoes into pieces (do not remove the skin and seeds)
2 – Add half of the chopped tomatoes and 300ml / 10 fl. oz. of water to the blender.
3 – Beat well until smooth
5 – Add the remaining tomatoes and blend again (do it this way so you don’t strain your blender)
6 – Beat again
7 – In a pan add a thread of olive oil, and the chopped onion, and let it sauté. Then add the minced garlic and mix well.
8 – Now, add the tomato mixture that we have reserved and mix well
9 – Season with salt, pepper and mix again
10 – Cover the pan, and let it cook for 25 minutes. Uncover the pan from time to time and stir the sauce so it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan, the ideal point is for the sauce to have a thicker texture.
And our homemade tomato sauce is ready, easy, and delicious. Lasts up to 3 months in the freezer.
