The best macaroni and cheese recipe!
This recipe for macaroni takes the classic dish to new levels of flavor and creaminess. Combining simple ingredients like pasta, cheese, tomato, and spices, it creates a rich and indulgent sauce. Ingredients:
- 1 quart of water (approx. 0.95 liters)
- 1 tablespoon of salt (for pasta water)
- 14 ounces (approx. 400g) of macaroni
- 2/3 cup of pasta cooking water
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 chopped onion
- 3 cloves of minced garlic
- 4 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon of salt (for the sauce)
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1/3 cup of milk
- 7 ounces (approx. 200g) of cream
- 7 ounces (approx. 200g) of Creamy Cheddar Sauce
- 7 ounces (approx. 200g) of mozzarella cheese
- 2 ounces (approx. 57g) of butter
- Parsley to taste for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large pot, add 1 quart of water and 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring to a boil.
Add 14 ounces of macaroni and cook for 10 minutes over high heat, stirring occasionally.
Reserve 2/3 cup of the pasta cooking water and drain the rest.
Make the Sauce: - In the same pot, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
Add the tomato paste and cook for 3 minutes, stirring.
Season with 1 teaspoon of salt, black pepper, chilli powder, and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Add the reserved pasta water, 1/3 cup of milk, and 7 ounces of cream. Cook for 5 minutes.
Combine and Finish: - Add the drained macaroni to the pot.
Stir in 7 ounces of Creamy Cheddar Sauce, 7 ounces of mozzarella cheese, and 2 ounces of butter. Mix well.
Cook for an additional 8 minutes over low heat until everything is well combined and the cheese is melted.
Garnish with parsley to taste.
Serve:
Serve hot, ensuring each portion is well coated with the creamy sauce.
